Responsibilities of the Night Dispatcher
Dispatchers ensure that our routes are accurately and completely shipped via cross-checking paperwork.
Accurately dispatch Drivers from the distribution facility with the equipment they need to service the customer.
Dispatcher is the primary point of contact for our Drivers while they are out on routes.
Troubleshoot customer service and equipment/truck-related issues.
Manage 20-30 local CDL drivers
Understand FMCSR and DOT laws/requirements
Familiar with operation of unloading equipment (ie: lift-gates, ramps, 2-wheel hand-carts)
Must be able to demonstrate experience with a fast-paced dispatch/transportation distribution environment.
Legally able to work in the US
Candidate must pass a pre-hire drug screen
Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English

Qualifications and Skills of the Night Dispatcher
Able to speak and write fluently in English. Bi-lingual helpful.
High degree of comfort with technology. Must be able to quickly navigate enterprise systems and communicate effectively via email.
Experience with billing/shipping paperwork; demonstrated ability to be highly accurate and efficient at clerical tasks in a distribution environment.
Understands what drives an effective safety culture, and actively participates in the Company’s mission to make decisions that positively impact the safety of our Drivers.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to listen for needs, check for understanding and accuracy, and build relationships with other employees.
Dimensional thinking skills; able to multi-task and problem-solve as an integrated member of the Shipping Office; ability to trouble-shoot problems on the fly and effectively manage tasks in a high pressure environment.
Experience dispatching/managing 20+ local, multi-stop delivery drivers
Efficient with computer-based dispatch programs, Outlook email, and Exel spreadsheets
Experience in foodservice distribution a strong plus.
Salary commensurate with experience.

Knowledge of RoadNet dispatching software strongly preferred

Salary/Benefits for the Night Dispatcher
Salary is based on experience. Full benefits after 60-day probationary period: medical, dental, life, 401K, paid Holidays and Vacations.
Eligible for benefits 1st of the month following 60 days

401K after 1 year
Paid holidays after probationary / orientation period
